House-hunting

Went house-hunting with the missus and the kids last weekend. Don't know why but we were suddenly bitten by the need-more-space bug. I guess I'm also getting fed-up with some of my neighbour's relatives.

After 12 years, it is time to get a new place. Pity about the RM5k spent on my toilets though. My other half did take a lot of time and care choosing the fittings.

Strange but then we actually thought we could continue staying in the present place for at least three more years.

Anyway, one old semi-dee that we checked out did give us the creeps. Firstly, after waiting a long time for the agent to show up with the keys, we suddenly discovered that the outer gate and the main door were actually not locked! It was only four in the afternoon but the interior of the house was really dark -- the agent blamed it on the tinted glass on the windows -- we could not see much of the kitchen and the back. The house at the back was also abandoned after some partially-completed renovation work so that also added to the state of disrepair. Creepy.

Another semi-dee opposite was in better condition and still tenanted but we all agreed that the space inside the house was quite small. Things also looked quite old and there were lots of mosquitoes. Next!

Anyway, we ended up looking at some 2 1/2-storey houses and guess out, everyone's pretty enthusiastic. The downside: leasehold, RM470k, and still need to renovate the porch to park two cars. Hmmm. The missus is quite smtten though and I know that what the missus likes, the missus usually gets!
